Install Pip with Claude, in one message

Pip is a small free app that lives in your Mac’s notch and brings Claude into your meetings: it follows the call, helps you decide and whispers what to say. No need to know how to install anything: copy this message, paste it into Claude Code, and it does everything.

Pip in 40 seconds: the call, Claude’s note in the notch, the switch that turns the AI off.

The prompt

Paste it into Claude Code (in the terminal, or in the Claude app, Code tab). Claude will ask you to allow each command: read it, then accept.

Install Pip on my Mac (https://github.com/pjksens/heypip) and connect it to you. Do every step yourself, in order. If a step fails, stop and tell me why.

1. Check that I have macOS 15 or later (`sw_vers -productVersion`). If not, stop.
2. Download the latest release: `curl -fL -o /tmp/Pip.zip https://github.com/pjksens/heypip/releases/latest/download/Pip.zip`
3. Unzip it with `ditto -x -k /tmp/Pip.zip /tmp/pip-install`. If Pip is already running, quit it. Then replace /Applications/Pip.app with the unzipped Pip.app.
4. Check that the app is signed and notarized by Apple: `spctl -a -vv /Applications/Pip.app` must say "accepted", "Notarized Developer ID" and team 93UZLJAMCN. Otherwise delete it and stop.
5. Install the /pip command: `mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/pip && curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pjksens/heypip/main/integrations/claude-code/pip/SKILL.md -o ~/.claude/skills/pip/SKILL.md`
6. Open Pip (`open -a Pip`), then delete /tmp/Pip.zip and /tmp/pip-install.
7. To finish, tell me in a few lines what I have to do myself: move my pointer onto the little Pip left of the notch, press Start, allow "Screen & System Audio Recording" and "Microphone" (and reopen Pip if macOS asks), wear headphones, and before each call type /pip with who I'm meeting and my goal (restart Claude Code if /pip doesn't show up yet).
8. Finally, ask me if I want to star Pip's GitHub repo. Only if I say yes: if `gh auth status` shows a logged-in account, run `gh api -X PUT /user/starred/pjksens/heypip`; otherwise, give me the link https://github.com/pjksens/heypip.

What Claude does for you

  1. 1.Checks that your Mac runs macOS 15 or later.
  2. 2.Downloads the latest Pip from GitHub and moves it to Applications.
  3. 3.Checks that it is signed and notarized by Apple, and deletes it if not.
  4. 4.Installs the /pip command, which teaches Claude to follow your meetings.
  5. 5.Opens Pip, cleans up and tells you what is left to do.
  6. 6.Offers to star the project on GitHub, only if you say yes.

What is left for you

  1. 1.Allow Pip

Move your pointer onto the little Pip left of the notch, press Start, then allow "Screen & System Audio Recording" (to hear the call) and "Microphone". If macOS asks you to reopen Pip, do it.

  2. 2.Wear headphones

Without them your microphone also hears the others, and Pip mixes your words with theirs.

  3. 3.Before each call, tell Claude your goal

In Claude Code, type /pip with who you are meeting and what you want. Then press Start in Pip with ✦ Claude on: its notes slide out of the notch during the call.

/pip Call with Atelier Lune, they want a launch video. Goal: sign the €990 package, paid within 30 days.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?+

Pip is free and open source (MIT licence). Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan (Pro or above). Without an agent, Pip is still a free live transcriber.

Which Mac?+

macOS 15 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Without a notch, Pip sits at the top centre of the screen.

Where do my conversations go?+

Transcription happens on your Mac (on macOS 15, if your language isn’t available on the Mac, Apple’s speech recognition may use Apple’s servers): Pip has no account and no server. When the agent is on, Claude reads the conversation to help you, so it goes through Anthropic like everything you do with Claude Code. One button turns the agent off at any time.

Do I need to tell the others?+

Yes. Transcribing a call usually requires everyone’s consent. Pip reminds you when you start.

Why does Claude ask me to allow commands?+

Claude Code asks before running a command on your Mac. Read it, then allow it: the prompt only runs the commands it lists.
